Archives
The archives of the Czech Zoological Society were compiled in 1997 from documents that were found in the Secretariat of the Czech Zoological Society and copies of records of various meetings, which came from the private archives of some members of the Society. All documents dealing with the activities of the Society were sorted into yearly volumes and stored in the rooms of the secretariat of the Society in the Faculty of Science building, Charles University, Viničná 7, Prague. Documents for the period from the founding of the Society in 1927 until 1946 were not located and it is assumed were lost when Professor Jaroslav Štorkán was arrested in 1942 and executed for sedition after the assassination of Reinhard Heydrich.
In December 2002, Josef Chalupský discovered a rich collection of archival material, which was thought to have been lost. These documents were incorporated into the Archives of the Society.
A list of the documents is included in „Archiv, 25.12.2002“ (which is in Czech).
